90 Points: Wine Enthusiast - April 2017 Buying Guide, "It's in remarkably good condition, biscuity and amazingly fresh." - PG
While preparing for harvest, winemaker Trevor discovered something amazing tucked away in our library--tirage boxes filled with bottles of sparkling wine still aging on lees. After a touch of crafting we are releasing this very limited, once-in-a-lifetime sparkling wine. Due to its rarity, no discounts apply and purchases are limited to three bottles per customer.
Due to the limited availability of this item, the maximum order quantity is 3.

Our Port-inspired dessert wine combines the toasted nutty flavors of tawny Port with the rich, dark fruitness of a ruby Port. Aromas and flavors of buttered hazelnuts, dark chocolate and raspberry intermingle with honey, raisin and sweet date, making for a hedonistic drinking experience. Try this paired with a bittersweet chocolate souffle, bread pudding or your favorite blue cheese.
Lively acidity makes this wine a terrific partner for food. On the palate, flavors of cherry cola, blackberry and raspberry jam predominate. Aging in neutral oak barrels allows the natural fruit character of this wine to shine.
The 2014 Heritage Series Cabernet Sauvignon displays a rich garnet color with aromas of candied red fruits and violets. On the palate, prominent tannins are balanced with dark chocolate, leather and spices leading to a dried currant finish. Enjoy now or cellar for up to a decade. Only 164 cases produced.
The 2014 Desert Wind Ora is our take on an Italian-styled Super Tuscan blend. Sangiovese takes the center stage, lending aromatics of cherry and cola, while the Malbec and Petit Verdot flesh out the mid-palate and cling to the Sangiovese for a lingering finish. Flavors of black currant, black pepper, cherry cola and chocolate permeate throughout the wine, showcasing the elegance and dynamism of this full-bodied blend. Only 220 cases produced.

Full-bodied and elegant, the mid-palate displays supple tannins, nuances of dark chocolate and dried currants, and a touch of oak. Decanting before serving is recommended. This wine will age gracefully for the next ten years.
This Syrah was aged for 13 months in neutral oak barrels to allow the incredible aromatic nose of this wine to shine without imparting toasty oak flavor. On the nose, aromas of lavender, vanilla, and baking spices complement flavors of dark fruits, candied violets and roasted hazelnuts. The finish is long and supple, with velvety tannins and a hint of vanilla. Enjoy now or cellar for up to ten years.
A varietal hailing from Portugal, our Touriga Nacional was fermented in open-top bins; after primary fermentation, the free run and press wine were blended and aged in neutral oak barrels for 14 months to create a soft palate and maintain the lavish aromas. The resulting wine displays a complex nose of caramelized sugar, purple flowers and dried plums, complemented by a luxuriously soft palate of white tea and persimmons. This rich wine finishes with notes of leather and dried roses. Recommended drinking period: 2016-2025.
2014 was an ideal growing season in the Willamette Valley with long, warm, dry days and very little rain. our 2014 Pinot Noir expresses the terrior of the Willamette Valley with aromas and flavors of cherry, red fruits, spice and minerals. The finish is long and silky smooth.

This traditional Bordeaux varietal is often seen as a lighter, blending relative of Cabernet Sauvignon; however, the Desert Wind Cabernet Franc was fermented in stainless steel tanks with daily mixing to ensure a rich palate and robust color making a great stand-alone varietal expression. The Cabernet Franc displays aromas of flavors of raspberry, plum, and leather, with well-integrated oak taking you through the finish. This robust wine can be enjoyed now; however, it can benefit from 5-10 years of cellaring.
This Cabernet Sauvignon is rich, robust and a great example of the powerhouse reds for which Washington State is known. From the warm 2015 vintage, this wine exhibits aromas and flavors of blackberry, cinnamom, cocoa and Bing cherry. Eighteen months of post-fermentation aging allowed the wine to soften and mature, resulting in a complex bottle perfect for drinking now or aging an additional 3-5 years.
Our ‘Heritage Series’ wines are only released in the best of vintages where the varietal has especially thrived and shows components of a wonderful wine. The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon ‘Heritage Series’ is a small lot, artisanal expression of the varietal. This wine displays a rich garnet color with aromas black cherry, roasted fennel and vanilla. On the palate, moderate tannins are balanced with black cherry, blackberry and plum, with sweet spices taking you through to a long finish. Enjoy now or cellar for up to a decade.

The 2015 growing season was excellent on the Wahluke Slope - warm from start to finish which allowed our Mourvèdre (a typically late ripening variety) to achieve full ripeness and character. The nose opens with rose petals and crushed spices, and finishes with notes of cranberry and bright cherry. This lively wine dances across the tongue with just enough acidity to finish clean. A kiss of oak marries well, and serves to cement this as the serious red it is. Drink over the next 3 years.
Given top rating of "Outstanding" in a blind tasting by Great Northwest Wine. The 2015 Ruah is extremely rich and round, with flavors of blackberry, plum and ripe raspberry, with hints of allspice and cocoa. This lively wine coats every taste bud, providing a satisfying experience. Ready to drink now, but will be rewarded with an additional year or two of cellaring.
While traditionally a Spanish varietal, Tempranillo grows excellently in the landscape of Eastern Washington, especially in warm vintages like 2015. Our Tempranillo was fermented in closed top stainless-steel tanks and aged 20 months in barrel. Aromas of raspberry, tobacco, and vanilla accompany the dark red fruits on the palate. Enjoy this wine over the next 3-5 years, and try pairing with your favorite paella recipe.
A WINE CLUB EXCLUSIVE - Please log in to your account to purchase. The warm Umpqua Valley is home to our family's Coles Valley Vineyard site. Warmer than the Willamette Valley, this appellation produces a robust Pinot noir bursting with ripe aromas and flavors and a rich, deep color and structure. This is a great wine for drinking now with assertive foods or cellaring for another five years. Only 217 cases produced.
The 2015 vintage was warm and mild, resulting in fruit with complex flavors, balanced acidity and round tannins. The fruit for this wine was harvested from the best block in the St. Jory Vineyard. It was fermented in small bins for optimum extraction and flavor, followed by 11 months in French Oak. On the nose, the wine has notes of cranberry and candied cherry, spice and vanilla. The palate is firm, yet yielding, providing an excellent pairing for full-bodied dishes. This wine is a wonderful expression of our flagship vineyard in the South Salem Hills. Drink now or cellar 3-5 years for a softer finish.
A Wine Club Exclusive - log into your account to purchase. The fruit for this wine comes from our Willow Creek Vineyard in the South Salem Hills. This single vineyard Pinot noir opens with a nose redolent of cherry pie with vanilla ice cream - sweet and fruity with a hint of spice. The palate is soft, but generous, showing ripe cherry, raspberry, and the softest hint of oak. Enjoy now, or cellar for 3-5 years for a continual beautiful evolution of flavor and texture.
The 2016 growing season in the Wahluke Slope experienced an early start with warm temperatures in the spring and summer, but cool temperatures during harvest extended the growing period. This proved beneficial as the Chardonnay was allowed extra time on the vine to ripen and develop rich and complex fruit flavors. Our Chardonnay underwent full malolactic fermentation to soften the palate and was aged sur lie to enhance mouthfeel. The resulting Chardonnay expresses notes of tropical fruits, brioche, butterscotch, and a hint of vanilla.
This is the first-ever vintage of our Desert Wind Chardonnay 'Heritage Series'. The 2016 vintage allowed for extended hang time on the vine, allowing the fruit for the wine to fully ripen and develop complex flavors. This Chardonnay was fermented in French oak barrels and aged on lees 4-5 months. The resulting full-bodied Chardonnay displays aromas and flavors of tropical fruit, honeysuckle, vanilla and sweet spices. Enjoy on its own or pair with seafood, roast chicken or hors d'oeuvres.
After the strong, rich Gamay of 2015, it was hard to believe what came out of the fermenter in 2016 – something even more explosive. Our 2016 Gamay Noir is outstanding, with deep purple color that stains the glass. The nose is enjoyable with notes of cranberry, orange peel and fruit leather. The palate is fleshy, carrying though those flavors from the nose, with additional hints of allspice and vanilla on a soft and round skeleton. This will be a great pairing for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, or simply, a cozy, rainy night by the fireplace. Enjoy immediately, though 2-3 years of thoughtful aging will be rewarded with an even more complex wine.
Our Pinot Gris is characterized by its tropical aromas and bright acidity. Flavors and aromas of lemon curd, nectarine, elderflower, grapefruit dominate, finishing crisp and dry. This wine makes an excellent partner to shellfish, sushi and most hors d'oeuvres.
Our 2016 Skin Ferment Pinot Gris is a wine that showcases the true nature of what Pinot Gris can be outside of the “norm.” Treated in much the same way as our small-lot Pinot Noir, we used 25% whole cluster, destemming the remainder, and fermented on skins for 14 days prior to pressing. The resulting wine has excellent texture and tannin structure, with flavors of strawberry and cherry on the palate, while maintaining the floral aromas of Pinot Gris on the nose. This wine is an extremely interesting and delicious take on Pinot Gris. Bottled unfiltered and unfined.
The Duck Pond South Salem Hills Cuvée Pinot Gris is a blend of Pinot gris from the Delaney and Hylo vineyards. Fermented in neutral oak, this white offers a wonderfully round mouthfeel. There is a delicate nose of wet stone and cheese rind that ushers in a palate of golden delicious apple, Anjou pear and quince. This well-balanced and delicious wine from our two highest elevation vineyard sites will be best enjoyed over the next year.
Our 2016 Pinot Noir Blanc is truly a wonderful wine, with many more layers than the average white wine. It is exceptionally complex with notes of candied orange peel, cherry blossom and crushed gravel on the nose – while the palate is incredibly balanced with flavors of lemon curd, tangerine and vanilla bean. Enjoy throughout the summer months, and over the next year with a dill/lemon roasted salmon fillet, sautéed scallops, or a simple summer salad.
2016 was a tremendous growing season throughout Oregon, especially at our Coles Valley Vineyard in the Umpqua Valley. For the second year in a row, early bud break, combined with a moderate and long summer allowed for fruit to fully ripen in this vineyard. Our 2016 Pinot Noir is layered and rich, with a nose of candied cherry, spice and sandalwood. The palate is awash with flavors of ripe Bing cherries, red raspberry and soft vanilla notes. The finish is long and plush, with depth and richness, characteristic of a great vintage. Enjoy this Pinot Noir now with a variety of foods such as Atlantic salmon with dill, or a simple spaghetti dinner. Drink now or cellar for 1-2 years.
Our Coles Valley Vineyard, situated in the Umpqua Valley and surrounding the Coles Valley Church is a truly special site. This blend from 11 different vineyard blocks is an approachable, yet serious introduction to our Coles Valley Vineyard. The soft red color speaks to the delicate nature of this wine, with aromas and flavors of cherry blossom, raspberry and strawberry, with just a hint of sandalwood. The palate is smooth, dancing across the tongue with a spice note on the finish. Bottled unfiltered and unfined.
